A political dynasty emerges!

A proud-as-punch former Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has firmed in his belief that his son Alex has what it takes to not only enter federal politics but one day be the nation’s leader.

This follows scathing comments by a NSW Supreme Court judge over Alex Turnbull’s evidence in a failed court case against his family’s former business partner.

Judge Kate Willaims in a written judgement on Friday said Mr Turnbull’s evidence was inconsistent, not credible and was irreconcilably inconsistent with his own words.

The judge ruled that Alex Turnbull had given false evidence, had shown a willingness to lie and had lied.

“I’ve always known Alex has what it takes to one day be a great Liberal Prime Minister just as I was,” Malcolm Turnbull said in a statement proudly posted to the wall of his Sydney harbourside mansion.

US political analysts say President Joe Biden’s recent address to the nation in which he methodically laid out his views on the threat to the very fundamentals of democracy posed by Donald Trump and his hardcore followers had the potential to be one of the great political speeches of all time.

The 25-minute speech was delivered live on prime-time television across the US with Mr Biden standing in front of the floodlit Independence Hall in Philadelphia – a key landmark in America’s creation and development as a modern democracy which was chosen by the White House to help underline the importance of the subject matter.

Without fail all political commentators and scholars at leading US universities and think tanks contacted by The Bug said the address would have been near the top of any list of great American political speeches if only Mr Biden had been facing the camera and not Independence Hall.

Seasoned observers of Queensland politics suggest the Palaszczuk Government may soon face a by-election in the seat of Waterford south of Brisbane now held by Attorney-General Shannon Fentiman.

They believe the endorsement given to Ms Fentiman by right-wing News Crap Australia columnist Peter Gleeson in today’s edition of Brisbane turdbloid The Courier-Mail (below) as his pick to succeed Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk means her political career is now all but over.

“The endorsement means Shannon might as well pack her bags now and leave the parliament,” one said on condition of anonymity.

“She’s very astute and would know full well that her career and any chance of advancement now are dead in the water after such an embarrassing turn of events.

“Today’s column by Gleeso certainly elevates the odds of Shannon pulling the pin.

“The thing that could make it a certainty would be an endorsement from weekly Courier-Mail columnist Des Houghton who privately views Gleeso as a bit of a lefty.”
