Before we get onto our second batch of tweets from the past week, can we just say well done to John Hall @jphall707 for his contribution at top. And we joyously repeat, in caps for emphasis: THANK GOD FOR THAT!

As mentioned yesterday, late last week saw Howard government minister Fran Bailey finally come out to tell us something most of us have known for a long time, but not the bulk of the mainstream media, that Scott Morrison was a dreadful cunt.

Bailey got bouquets and brickbats for her observations of the man she sacked from Tourism Australia for his sneaky, totally unprofessional activities. Too little, too late, Franny! said some. At least you sacked the prick! cried others. The sisterhood was out to make the valid point that men, basically, were at the heart of Smoko’s ascension to national incompetence.

So we’ll kick off with Andrew Tate @SpudontheTracks….

See, this is The Bug‘s problem. Sure, the four years Australian suffered under this mendacious, muddling moron, this fake-Christian flim-flamming fraudster, were almost unbearably painful, but would we have been spared this lazy, loathsome, lightweight if Fran Bailey had spoken up years ago? Would the likes of Chris Uhlmann and Phillip Coorey, every Newscorpse scribe and all the shock jocks have banged on relentlessly that Morrison must never, ever, be given a shot at national leadership? (Bug readers are invited to insert prolonged and loud canned laughter here).

It really is a Catch-22 situation. While we’ve had to endure those four years of Smoko/Smirko/The Liar from the Shire/The Crime Minister/The Crook from Cook he alone has managed to reduce the Liberal Party to a smelly, smoldering carcass.
