Stubborn King Steven stays put!

BRISBANE: Jet-lagged Premier and King of Queensland Steven Miles the First is refusing to abdicate despite stinging criticism by two of this nation’s most respected politics opinionists.

Miles has copped both barrels from Sky LNPNews hosts James Macpherson and Sharri Markson (above) over news that he used separate private jet flights to ferry himself and his police minister to various Queensland locations, often landing and taking off within minutes of each other.

“We have got to talk about Queensland Premier Steven Miles,” Mr Macpherson said. “Last week Steven Miles announced tough admission reduction targets.

“This week, Steven Miles and his police commissioner caught separate private jets to the same function. It is good to be the king.

“It is also good to spare no expense when you are the people’s representative.”

Fellow Sky LNPNews host Sharri Markson said Queensland Premier Steven Miles taking a separate jet to his police minister but flying the same routes showed “another case of eyewatering hypocrisy”.

“Yet another case of eyewatering hypocrisy when it comes to flying private jets,” Ms Markson said. “This time Queensland Premier Steven Miles has been caught out.

“The reports say he used two private jets, one for himself and one for Police Minister Mark Ryan.

“They were flying, according to the media reports, the same routes on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, but for some reason they could not fly together on the one jet … this is just getting ridiculous now, such a waste of money.”

A spokesperson for the Queensland Premier told The Bug: “The boss knows there’s probably no hope now of being re-elected come October after these stinging criticisms from two of this nation’s most respected politics observers but being Anzac Day he intends to soldier on.

“You’ve got to give the poor bastard credit for that, I guess. Hey, you’d better not use the poor bastard bit, okay?”
